
Camarena, RailRiders Take Series Opener from PawSox

PAWTUCKET, R.I. -Thanks to seven-shutout innings from Daniel Camarena, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (47-35) took game one of this three-game series at McCoy Stadium over the Pawtucket Red Sox (33-48) by a 5-1 final.
The RailRiders jumped on Erasmo RamÃrez for three runs in the first inning. After RamÃrez struck out the lead-off batter Mike Ford, Breyvic Valera drew a walk, Tyler Wade singled, and then Clint Frazier ripped a two-run double down the left-field line to open the scoring. Two batters later, Trey Amburgey blooped a double to right field to make it 3-0.
The PawSox did not score until the eighth inning, when Juan Centeno brought home Rusney Castillo with a groundout.
Making his first start of the year against Pawtucket, Camarena tossed seven-shutout innings and gave up just 2 hits. No Pawtucket runner got to second base against him. The southpaw faced the minimum through his first 6.2 innings.
The PawSox continue this three-game series with the RailRiders tomorrow night at 6:05 p.m. Pawtucket left-hander Kyle Hart (3-2, 3.44) is scheduled to oppose RailRiders righty Raynel Espinal (3-7, 4.71).
The game will be televised live on YurView on COX. Radio coverage on WHJJ (920 AM and 104.7 FM) and throughout the PawSox Radio Network begins with the pre-game show at 5:35 p.m.
Patriotic Post-Game Fireworks will follow the games the next two nights- all of which begin at 6:05 p.m. Then when the PawSox are home July 12 (Friday) following the All-Star Break, the first 3,000 fans will receive a Jackie Bradley Jr. Gold Glove bobblehead at McCoy Stadium. On July 14 (Sunday), the first 4,000 fans will receive a PawSox cap, compliments of the Rhode Island Lottery & WEEI-FM.
Good tickets are available, and fans can visit the McCoy Stadium box office, which is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m., and during all home games. Fans can also call (401) 724-7300 or log on to PawSox.com for tickets.
