
Calvillo and Curry CFL Players of the Month

Montreal, July 22, 2004 - The 2003 CFL Most Outstanding Player Anthony Calvillo and rookie cornerback Almondo Curry were respectively named Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week in the Canadian Football League.
Since the start of the season, Calvillo completed 142 of his 223 passing attempts for 1,868 yards, with only two interceptions, ten passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. In 2003, Calvillo also earned the Player of the month award for the month of July.
After his sixth career game, Curry returned four interceptions for 78 yards including one 50-yard interception return for a touchdown, knocked down three passes and recorded 18 tackles. Curry leads the CFL with four interceptions.
In July, Anthony Calvillo and rookies Almondo Curry, Autry Denson and Ezra Landry all earned Player of the Week awards. The Alouettes are the only undefeated team in the CFL with a 6-0 record.
