Fort Wayne, Ind. - Austin Callahan hit a home run and drove in two runs while Julian Aguiar tossed five scoreless innings to lead the Dayton Dragons to a 5-2 victory over the Fort Wayne TinCaps on Saturday night. The win was the third straight for the Dragons.

Callahan gave the Dragons a 1-0 lead when he blasted a solo home run in the second inning, his fourth of the season and his second in the last two nights.

Meanwhile, Aguiar was able to work out of trouble in all five innings he pitched, allowing five hits and four walks, but stranding all nine runners. He struck out five and left the game with the lead.

The Dragons scored in the sixth on Callahan's sacrifice fly that brought in Edwin Arroyo from third to make it 2-0. They added three more runs in the seventh, taking advantage of an error on a dropped fly ball that allowed two runs to score to make it 5-0.

Fort Wayne got a two-run home run from Marcos Castanon in the bottom of the seventh to make it 5-2, but nine of their last 10 batters were retired and they could never advance another man past first base. Vin Timpanelli earned his fourth save by working the final two innings, allowing only a two-out single in the ninth while striking out two.

Aguiar (3-1) earned the win, lowering his earned run average to a league-leading 2.19.

The Dragons had eight hits in the game. Callahan, Jack Rogers, and Wendell Marrero each had two. Tyler Callihan had a bunt single to extend his hitting streak to eight straight games.

The Dragons are now one-half game behind second place West Michigan with four games to play in the first half season. Dayton is 15-7 over its last 22 games and 25-17 since April 30.
