Wright Promoted, Emanuels Returns

Lansing Lugnuts News Release


The Lansing Lugnuts announced the following roster changes, in conjunction with the Oakland Athletics:

- Infielder Joshwan Wright returned from rehab assignment, activated from Injured List and promoted to Midland (Double-A - Texas League)

- Pitcher Stevie Emanuels received from Stockton (Single-A - California League)

Signed as an international free agent in 2017 from Panama, the 5-foot-6 Wright makes his first trip to Double-A. After batting .274 with 13 doubles, four triples and a home run in 81 games for the Lugnuts in 2022, the 22-year-old batted .250 (7-for-28) in 10 games for Lansing this season before being placed on the Injured List on May 6.

Selected in the fifth and final round of the 2020 draft from Washington, the 6-foot-5 Emanuels made seven appearances, six starts, for the Lugnuts in 2021, posting a 6.26 ERA in 27 1/3 innings. He returned in 2022, recording a 6.62 ERA in 17 games, 12 starts, with 73 strikeouts in 69 1/3 innings. Emanuels had begun 2023 on the Stockton Ports' Injured List.
