HITMEN HEADLINES: The Calgary Hitmen are in Lethbridge Wednesday night to face the Hurricanes. The Hitmen have lost nine straight and are coming off Saturday's 5-2 defeat in Cranbrook to Kootenay. The Central Division leading Ice got goals from five different players in the victory with Kootenay building a 2-0 first period lead on markers from Joe Antilla and Adam Rossignol. They extended it to 3-0 early in the second period when Matt Fraser scored on a two man advantage. Justin Kirsch with his team leading eighth goal of the season got Calgary on the board but the Ice responded with two more goals from Jesse Ismond and Luke Paulsen to build a 5-1 lead after forty minutes. In the third, Hitmen defenceman Kyle Schmidt scored his first goal in the Western Hockey League to round out the scoring. The Ice outshot the Hitmen 30-24. Calgary went 0-2 on the powerplay while Kootenay was 1-5.

VS LETHBRIDGE: Wednesday is the second of six regular season meetings with the Hurricanes. Lethbridge leads the season series 1-0 after posting a road victory on opening night.

The Hitmen and Hurricanes will meet again on Wednesday, December 12th in Lethbridge.

QUARTER MARK: Wednesday's game in Lethbridge will be Calgary's 18th of the regular season, marking the quarter point of the 72 game schedule.

REGULAR SEASON CAREER WATCH: Jimmy Bubnick needs five points for 150. Mackenzie Royer is five games shy of 100.

TEAM WHL: Hitmen Head Coach Mike Williamson will serve as an assistant coach for Team WHL later this month at the Subway Super Series. Games will be played in Kamloops November 17th and Prince George November 18th. Meanwhile defenceman Matt MacKenzie has been selected to play in both games while Jimmy Bubnick will play in Prince George.

STREAKIN: Cody Beach (1g 3a) has points in three straight games. Justin Kirsch (2g) has goals in back-to-back games.

HITMEN ALUMNUS: Keith Seabrook who played four seasons with the Hitmen (2007-08 to 2008-09) is in the AHL with the Abbotsford Heat. Through 14 games, the 22-year-old defenceman has 14 points (2g 6a). He also has 29 shots on goal.

"MOVEMBER": Calgary Hitmen together with Canada Safeway and Prostate Cancer Canada have teamed up for "Movember". The Hitmen are growing mustaches to raise awareness and funds in the fight against prostate cancer. Fan can go to hitmenhockey.com and click the "Movember" promotional link to donate. During his lifetime, 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with the disease, and this number is expected to rise to 1 in 4 within a decade. Prostate cancer is over 90 per cent curable if detected and treated in its earliest stages.

DID YOU KNOW? Even though the Hitmen have a record of 4-13, the overall shot clock is almost dead even. Calgary has taken 479 shots compared to 485 by their opponents.

OUTDOOR GAME: The Hitmen host the Regina Pats at McMahon Stadium in Calgary on Monday, February 21st. Game time is 1:00 p.m.

UPCOMING GAMES: The Hitmen will play back-to-back home games against the Central Division leading Kootenay Ice starting Remembrance Day Thursday November 11th. Game time is 5:00 p.m. at Scotiabank Saddledome. The Ice make a return trip to the 'Dome on Sunday for another 5:00 p.m. start. Calgary then hits the road for a pair of games in Brandon November 19th and Moose Jaw November 21st.
