Calgary, AB - Austin Wagner scored 2:05 into overtime to lift the Regina Pats to a 6-5 road victory against the Calgary Hitmen on Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Jake Bean forced extra time for Calgary, netting the equalizer with 4:31 remaining in regulation. The marker completed his first career Western Hockey League hat-trick. The Carolina Hurricanes prospect also added an assist and now has points in 13 of his last 15 games.

Luke Coleman and Jakob Stukel also scored for Calgary which now picked up points in seven of nine games since the WHL Trade Deadline to pull within three points of a playoff spot.

Sam Steel led the Pats with two goals and two assists while Jedd de Wit, Adam Brooks and Dawson Leedahl added singles to help Regina improve their league-leading record to 32-6-6-1.

Regina outshot Calgary 38-36.

The Hitmen, 17-21-7-2, have a quick turnaround, stepping back on the ice tomorrow in Cranbrook against the Kootenay ICE (7:00 p.m., Sportsnet 960-The Fan). Calgary is then back home on Jan. 29 against the Brandon Wheat Kings in a 4:00 p.m. puck drop at the 'Dome. It's Dodge Skate with the Hitmen and Sunday Funday presented by Pocky. Highlights include a post-game family skate and autograph session with the entire team, FREE with a game ticket. All participants under the age of 18 must wear helmet.
