The Regina Pats (32-6-6-1) are back in Red Deer for the first time since game seven of the second round of the 2016 WHL Playoffs tonight, to take on the Rebels (22-20-4-3). Puck drop is at 8 p.m. Regina time at the Enmax Centrium. The Pats were last in action on Friday in Calgary and picked up a third straight win, 6-5 in overtime. The Rebels were home to the Prince George Cougars on Friday and won 5-2. Tonight is the third of four meetings between the Pats and Rebels. The Pats won the first two at the Brandt Centre by 7-2 and 8-4 scores. The game can be heard on 620 CKRM with Bennett Dunlop Ford Pats Hockey beginning at 7:35 p.m.

Lead Up: Pats Grab OT Win in Calgary Sam Steel had four points and Austin Wagner scored the game winner as the Pats outlasted the Hitmen in Calgary on Friday night, 6-5 in overtime. The Pats held 1-0, 4-2 and 5-3 leads in the game but the Hitmen, led by Jake Bean's hattrick tied it up to force the extra frame. 2:05 into overtime, Adam Brooks set up Austin Wagner back door and the Calgary product made no mistake, scoring his 21st. The Pats outshot Calgary 38-36 in the win and improved to 32-6-6-1 on the season. Jordan Hollett made 31 saves in his second game back from injury while Trevor Martin stopped 32 pucks for the Hitmen.
Head to Head The Pats carry a 2-0-0-0 record against the Rebels into tonight's third meeting of the season. The Pats have outscored the Rebels 15-6 in the first two games. Regina put 95 shots on goal in the first two meetings while the Red Deer had 53. The Pats powerplay went three for 10 and the penalty kill was 11 for 13. Sam Steel leads the Pats with three goals and six assists in the two games. Dawson Leedahl has a goal and four assists and Jake Leschyshyn has two goals and two helpers. The Rebels are led by Evan Polei who has a goal and two assists against Regina. Four others have two points in the season series.
Mahura, de Wit Return to Red Deer Pats defenceman Josh Mahura and forward Jeff de Wit will play their first game against their former team tonight in Red Deer. The two were acquired in a trade on January 10. Mahura, in seven games with the Pats, has two goals and three assists. de Wit has three goals and one assist in the same number of contests. The Pats will be taking on former teammate Lane Zablocki for the first time, he went to the Rebels in the Mahura and de Wit trade. The club will also take on former teammate Jared Freadrich who was traded to Red Deer back on October 3, 2016.
Goals Galore With six goals last night, the Pats have reached 244 on the season which leads the entire WHL. Through 45 games, the Pats have already scored more times than they did all of last season (243). At this point last year, the Pats had scored 142 goals. The 244 goals have led the club to 32 wins in their first 45 games for just the second time in franchise history. The 1980-81 Pats went 32-13-0.
