
Calgary Hitmen Fall 6-5 In Shootout To Medicine Hat

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen forced overtime scoring with one second left, but ultimately fell 6-5 on home ice to the Medicine Hat Tigers Saturday night in a shootout.
The line of Ian Schultz, Tyler Fiddler and Joel Broda combined for 10 points to lead the Hitmen scoring attack. Schultz had four points (2g 2a), while Fiddler (2g 1a) and Broda (1g 2a) each had three.
Emerson Etem had a hat trick to lead the Tigers offense who overcame a 3-0 second period deficit..
The Hitmen are now 24-8-1-1. At 50 points they lead the WHL standings by two points over both Saskatoon and Brandon.
Calgary will play their third game in as many days on Sunday when they host the Kootenay Ice in the 15th annual Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss. Game time is 5:00 p.m. at the Pengrowth Saddledome. Doors will open early at 3:30 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed toy to the game and toss it on the ice when the Hitmen score their first goal. All teddy bears collected will be shared by over 50 Calgary and area charities this holiday season.
