Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen fired 50 shots, but lost 4-2 to the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors in Game 1 of their best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarter-Final Series Thursday night.
Jeff Bosch made 48 saves in the Warriors net in a first star performance.
Jason Bast and Tony Honejsek each had a goal and an assist for Moose Jaw who built period leads of 2-1 and 4-2.
Matt MacKenzie and Brandon Kozun replied for Calgary.
Special teams played a large role in the outcome as Moose Jaw went 3-6 on the powerplay while killing seven of eight Hitmen chances.
The series resumes Saturday night at the Pengrowth Saddledome with Game 2 at 7pm.
