Cougars Extend Heart-Felt Thank You to Everyone Involved In 2009-10 Season
March 19, 2010 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Prince George Cougars News Release
The Prince George Cougars would like to take this opportunity to once again extend a very heart-felt thank you to everyone involved with the Cougars during the 2009-10 Western Hockey League season. To all our sponsors, whose financial and in-kind contributions continue to help make the relationship between the Cougars and the community of Prince George very dynamic, thank you. We appreciate the corporate community's willingness to try new ventures to help make the game experience for Cougars fans an enjoyable one. We recognize their commitment to community growth, particularly to programs focused on youth. We look forward to working with you once again next season.
As always, fans of the Prince George Cougars did the team very proud. The passion of Cougars supporters, especially our season ticket holders, is one of the biggest reasons why the Cougars will continue to call Prince George home as we move forward. Cougars fans displayed class in so many ways this past season and were huge supporters of the Cougars Community Initiatives. From support for the Cougars Christmas Campaign in December, donations to Haiti Relief Efforts in January and the generosity of our fans at the Clean Out the Closet Game for The Salvation Army in March, our fans continued to give all season. The Cougars are determined to put an exciting, winning team on the ice in 2010-11 that will make our long-time and newer fans proud.
Many thanks go to members of the Prince George media, from radio to television and print. The Cougars appreciate your professional manner at all our games, media conferences and community events you covered this season. A special thank you goes to Ron St. Clair, the voice of the Cougars, for keeping our fans connected at home and on the road.
A big thank you also goes to the City of Prince George and all the hard-working employees of CN Centre who helped make the Cougars home a comfortable and spotless venue to watch a hockey game. We praise their willingness to go above and beyond to ensure the success of our game promotions.
Game in and game out, the Cougars valuable volunteers and game night staff spent countless hours assisting with game night operations. Cougars Host Services staff and volunteers chose to dedicate their time to help make games safe and enjoyable. We appreciate the tenacity of our Cougars intern, Victoria, whose behind-the-scenes efforts with the promotional aspect of Cougar game nights contributed to our successes.
The Cougars are a team that is building through strong draft picks and young players already in the organization. The experience gained from this past season will be valuable for the team moving forward and we all expect to see the Cougars once again become a tough opponent to face for all teams in the WHL. The Cougars organization is excited about the future of the team on the ice and its future in the community, as evidenced by a long-term agreement between the Cougars and the City of Prince George.
Once again thank you and we look forward to seeing you all back for the 2010-11 season, beginning at training camp in August.
