
Cain goes three for four in Power loss

Charleston, WV (July 4, 2006) -Lorenzo Cain went 3 for 4 with an RBI single on Tuesday night at Appalachian Power Park but the Power could not hold an early lead and fell to the Asheville Tourists by the final of 5-3.
Tony Fest ripped a two out single into left field to score Lorenzo Cain and give the Power a 1-0 lead in the first inning. In the second inning Nate Yoho scored on an errant throw from Asheville shortstop Chris Nelson to put the Power up 2-0. Chris Nelson redeemed himself with a two run double in the top of the third and Asheville took the lead during the next at bat on Cole Garner's Sac Fly RBI. The Power tied the game in the fifth inning on Lorenzo Cain's RBI single. In the sixth inning Phil Cuadrado crossed the plate on Mike Bell's error to give Asheville their second lead of the game and Nate Anderson grounded into a double play, knocking in Jason Van Kooten in the process to plate the final run of the game.
Alan Johnson (8-3) earned the victory, Andrew Johnston (9) got the save and Rafael Lluberes (4-4) obtained the loss. The Power are 45-36 overall and 6-6 in the second half after the loss and the Tourists improved to 44-39 overall and 9-4 in the second half after the win. Attendance for the game was 6,406.
The Power will continue the four game series against the Asheville Tourists at Appalachian Power Park on Wednesday night. Asheville will start left hander Xavier Cedeno (5-4, 3.09) and the Power will start right hander Will Inman (3-1, 1.54). The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
