Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (February 26)-Behind every good team is a good goaltender, and Texas had that Tuesday night as David Cacciola and the Brahmas were able to shutout the Youngstown SteelHounds 2-0, putting them only one point back in the playoff hunt.

Though the game had a defensive focus, it was Brahmas defenseman Kevin McLeod who put on an offensive show for the home crowd scoring his eighth goal of the season on the powerplay from Craig Minard and Jordan Cameron.

The game picked up the pace in the second, witnessed by Youngstown goaltender Kevin Beech who faced 11 shots and Cacciola who was peppered with 14 shots. Fortunately for Texas, a shot from Tyler Skworchinski was able to beat Beech at the 3:05 mark to give the Brahmas the 2-0 lead. McLeod and Cameron assisted on the goal.

An eventful third was full of penalties, five from Texas and six from Youngstown. In the end Texas' penalty kill was able to hold off the 'Hounds, earning the Brahmas their 30th victory of the season, the most since the 2001-02 season.

The Brahmas travel to Laredo for a Friday matchup at 7:05 PM before returning home to the NYTEX Sports Centre for a Northeast battle against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs at 7:05 PM. The Brahmas will then host a matinee game Sunday afternoon at 3:05 PM against the Austin Ice Bats. For ticket information please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423.
