John Decaro's Record-Setting Shutout Voted The Performance Of The Week

The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Bossier-Shreveport goaltender John DeCaro has earned the CHL Performance of the Week for the week of February 11th. DeCaro made 20 saves in the Mudbugs 3-0 shutout win at Austin on February 16th setting the CHL single-season record by notching his ninth shutout (he since has added another pushing the record to 10 shutouts). The Mudbugs have been on a remarkable run led by their goaltending tandem of DeCaro and Ken Carroll who together have combined for a CHL record 16 shutouts this season. Bossier-Shreveport is 39-9-4 and currently has a nine-point lead in the race for the CHL Governors' Cup (regular season champs).

DeCaro received over half of the record 12,660 votes cast garnering 6,676 votes (53%). The second place finisher was Wichita's Jason Duda who reached the 800-point plateau in his CHL career (5,732 votes). DeCaro's record-setting game will be automatically considered for the 2007-08 CHL Performance of the Year which will be announced in April, 2008.

The second-year goaltender leads the CHL with 22 wins, .942 save percentage, 1.66 GAA and 10 shutouts. His season record is 22-5-3 and the winner of last year's CHL Outstanding Goaltender (Scott Brower Award) has posted a 45-12-7 record in his CHL career with 12 shutouts.

Vladimir Hartinger's (NMX) hat trick in 6-4 win at Arizona on Feb. 20

Doug Sauter (OKC Head Coach) winning 500th CHL game on Feb. 23 versus Tulsa
