Frisco RoughRiders News Release

TULSA, OKLAHOMA (August 19, 2015) - Lars Anderson's solo home run in the fourth inning proved the difference as the Tulsa Drillers evened the series with a 2-1 win against the Frisco RoughRiders on Wednesday at ONEOK Field.

Frisco starter Edwar Cabrera (4-2) allowed two runs on six hits over eight innings, but was the tough-luck loser in the one-run contest. Anderson led off the fourth inning with his 12th home run of the season to give the Drillers a 2-1 lead.

Tulsa quickly jumped on the board in the bottom of the first inning. Leadoff hitter Ronald Torreyes tripled to left and scored one batter later on a sacrifice fly from Peter Lavin.

Trailing 1-0, outfielder Zach Cone led off the third with a double. Luis Marte reached on a fielder's choice after Anderson decided to throw to third, but not in time, and the Riders had runners on the corners and none out. But, after a popup, Marte was picked off first base and there were two outs. Luis Mendez worked a two-out walk and with Lewis Brinson batting, a balk was called on Tulsa starter Julio Urias, allowing Cone to score and tie the game.

Urias (3-4) struck out eight over six innings and picked up his third win for the Drillers. The left-hander was making his second consecutive start against the Riders.

Frisco had a chance to tie the game came in the seventh after Kellin Deglan led off with a double against Deck McGuire. Deglan reached third base on a wild pitch, but McGuire recovered with two strikeouts and a ground out to end the threat.

The RoughRiders (24-26, 53-67) went 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position and snapped a three game win streak. The Drillers and Riders play the rubber match on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. RHP Connor Sadzeck goes for Frisco against RHP Ross Stripling. The Riders return to the Metroplex on Tuesday, August 25 to play a four-game set against San Antonio (San Diego Padres). Bring your dog to the game for Bark in the Park Night on August 26. Frisco has just seven home dates remaining in the 2015 regular season. For tickets to see the Riders in 2015, call 972-731-9200, E-mail Info@ridersbaseball.com or visit www.ridersbaseball.com.
