Frisco RoughRiders News Release
FRISCO, TEXAS (August 19, 2015) - Calling all Canines! Pooches and Puppies are invited to the Frisco RoughRiders' game on Wednesday, August 26 for the team's second Bark in the Park Night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Fans are welcome to bring their dog to the 7:05 p.m. game vs. San Antonio. The "Doggie Doors" will open at 6 p.m. and the first 500 dogs will receive a free RoughRiders Dog Bowl.
Dogs are invited to attend the game with their owner and can roam the concourse areas of the ballpark and sit in the outfield grass berm. Berm tickets can be purchased for just $7. Dogs are not required to have a ticket. For tickets to bring your 'man's best friend' to the game, call (972) 731-9200, e-mail Info@RidersBaseball.com or visit www.RidersBaseball.com.
All Bark in the Park rules can be found at www.ridersbaseball.com/barkinthepark -- two key rules to point out are: (1) 1:1 human to dog ratio; (2) dogs must be leashed; (3) Owners are asked to clean up responsibly after their dogs.
Promotional activities will include:
- First 500 dogs will receive a RoughRiders Dog Bowl
- Pre-game dog parade and "Best in Show" judged by Riders players
- In-game "Stupid Dog Tricks" contest
- Post-game Dogs Run the Bases led by our very own team dog, 'Brooks'
- Water stations and dog pools will be available around the ballpark to help dogs keep cool
- Other promotional ideas will be promoted on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #RuffRiders
Local rescue groups are invited to have a table to distribute information or to showcase dogs in need of a home. Agencies can contact LaShawn Moore (LMoore@Ridersbaseball.com) if interested. In recognition of Bark in the Park Night, if a Riders player hits a home run, donations will go to local rescue organizations.
Bark in the Park Night is one of only seven remaining games in the Riders' 2015 home schedule. The homestand features a Weiner Wedneday (Aug. 25), Thirsty Thursday (Aug. 27) and a spectacular fireworks show (Aug. 28). For tickets to see the future stars of the Texas Rangers at Dr Pepper Ballpark call (972) 731-9200, e-mail Info@RidersBaseball.com or visit www.RidersBaseball.com. Additional updates and promotional information are available via the RoughRiders' Facebook, Twitter and website.
