El Paso Buzzards News Release

EL PASO, Texas – The El Paso Buzzards acquired goaltender Jamie Ronayne from the San Angelo Saints for future considerations. This will be the second stint as a member of the Buzzards for Ronayne.

"I've coached against Ronayne and I know he's capable of great things," said Buzzards' head coach Craig Coxe. "He's a good positional goaltender who likes to take away the shooter's angles and make big saves."

The trade fills a big need for the Buzzards, as the team looks to shore up their goaltending. In his previous appearance with El Paso, Ronayne went 5-3-0 with a 3.59 goals against average and a 88 percent save percentage. This season with the San Angelo Saints, Ronayne went 5-10-1 with a 4.33 GAA and an 89 percent save percentage. Ronayne, from Bloomfield Hills, Mich., is a 5'9", 180 lb. goaltender with solid mechanics and a vast knowledge of the game.

El Paso starts a three-game road trip when the Buzzards battle the Laredo Bucks at 6 p.m., Thursday in Laredo. The Buzzards are 5-3-2 in their previous ten contests.
