January 18, 2003 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
El Paso Buzzards News Release
EL PASO, Texas â West Texas Hockey Management Inc., the parent company of the El Paso Buzzards, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization Friday.
"This plan of reorganization will help hockey continue in El Paso," Buzzards CEO Bill Davidson said. "Once the plan is approved, the organization will come out of this stronger than before."
Chapter 11 allows the organization to freeze the debts owed to creditors. West Texas Hockey will submit a reorganization plan within a reasonable period of time and should receive confirmation of the plan from the federal bankruptcy courts. The creditors must approve the reorganization plan.
The Buzzards look to get back into the playoff hunt when El Paso hosts the Oklahoma City Blazers at 7 p.m., Saturday, in the El Paso County Coliseum.
