El Paso Buzzards News Release

EL PASO, Texas – The El Paso Buzzards traded goaltender Matt Carmichael to the Tulsa Oilers for future considerations.

"Sometimes a change of scenery is good for a player," said Buzzards' head coach Craig Coxe. "Carmy played well for us and now he has an opportunity to help out a first place team."

The trade completes a reshuffling of the goaltending deck for the Buzzards. This season with El Paso, Carmichael went 6-14-2 with a 3.17 goals against average and a 90 percent save percentage. Carmichael, from Bristol, PQ, is a 5'10", 170 lb. goaltender who will be the backup goaltender for the Oilers.

El Paso starts a three-game road trip when the Buzzards battle the Laredo Bucks at 6 p.m., tonight in Laredo. The team travels to Corpus Christi on Friday to battle the newly renamed Rayz at 6 p.m. The Buzzards are 5-3-2 in their previous ten contests.
