
Buzzards director of communications resigns

EL PASO, Texas â The El Paso Buzzards announced the resignation of Michael LaPlaca, the Buzzards Director of Communications. The resignation is effective immediately.
"The time is right to move on and continue elsewhere," LaPlaca said. "The association I have had with the El Paso Buzzards has been fulfilling. I have always provided 100 percent of my efforts to benefit the company during my employment. El Paso is a great community and I hope hockey can continue in the Southwest.
LaPlaca served as the Buzzards public relations director, community relations director and play-by-play broadcaster. The only remaining employee of West Texas Hockey Management, Inc., is Buzzards head coach Craig Coxe.
The Buzzards next game will be at 7 p.m., Friday in Albuquerque against the New Mexico Scorpioins.
