July 18, 2011 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Frederick Keys News Release

After allowing consecutive extra base hits to open the game, Bobby Bundy had a spectacular turnaround, allowing just two batters to reach thereafter in a dominating complete game effort as the Keys upended Salem 6-2. The win is the fifth in a row for Frederick and the ninth Keys victory in a row against Salem.

Bundy, who had recorded a complete game with Rookie Advanced Bluefield in 2009 and Class-A Delmarva in 2010, struck out nine batters in the effort. After the consecutive doubles to start the game, Bundy retired nine consecutive Salem batters. Then after a fifth inning single against, Bundy got on another role, setting down 13 consecutive Red Sox hitters to end the game.

The Keys grabbed the lead shortly after falling behind. The first four batters reached in the second inning including RBI-doubles from LF Kipp Schutz and 1B Mike Flacco. The Keys would send nine men to the plate in the inning grabbing a 3-2 lead.

In the third inning after 3B Dale Mollenhauer scored on a wild pitch it was Schutz again at the forefront. He homered over the right field wall, his fourth of the year to lead 5-2.

Bundy needed no more. The righty is now second in the league in wins with nine trailing only teammate Nathan Moreau.

The series continues from Lewis-Gale Field Tuesday, July 19th at 7:05 p.m. as Jake Pettit will get the start for Frederick. Coverage will begin 20 minutes earlier on 1450-AM The Source.

Frederick returns home for a week-long homestand with a Tote Bag giveaway to the first 1,000 fans on Friday, July 22nd. It is Going Green Night presented by the Frederick Department of Solid Waste Management.
