Rockford RiverHawks News Release

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - "Take Me Out To the Ballgame" could have easily been replaced by Eddie Money's "Take Me Home Tonight" on Tuesday at Wuerfel Park.

The Rockford RiverHawks waited out three rain delays in Traverse City, but the Beach Bums wasted little time in building an early lead. Rain forced an early end to the Bums' 5-0 victory, with the final delay at the seventh-inning stretch.

Traverse City took a 4-0 lead to force out Rockford starter Matt Enderle (1-2) after three innings. In the first inning, Brad Miller led off with a triple and scored on Brandon McArthur's groundout. In the second, Mike Victor and Brian Lapin hit back-to-back doubles. With one out in the third, McArthur doubled and Mike Epping followed with a two-run homer to right field.

The game was delayed three times by rain - a 35-minute delay to the start of the game, a 51-minute halt in the top of the sixth inning, and a stoppage of play after 6½ innings.

Traverse City starter David Dinelli (1-2) pitched three-hit ball over five innings for the win. Rockford loaded the bases with one out in the second inning, but failed to score.

Brandon Cohen was 1-for-2 with a walk and extended his hitting streak to nine games.

The series finale is at 6:05 p.m. CDT Wednesday. The RiverHawks come for a three-game series against Southern Illinois beginning at 7:05 p.m. on Thirsty Thursday. Miller Lite and 104.9 - the X sponsor Dollar Beer Night.
