Southern Illinois Miners News Release
MARION, Ill. - The Southern Illinois Miners and Washington Wild Things game on Tuesday at Rent One Park was postponed due to heavy rain.
The two teams will play a doubleheader on Wednesday at Rent One Park. The first game will begin at 5:05 p.m., and gates will open at 4:30 p.m. The Miners will throw righty Brett Scarpetta (2-2, 3.57) on the hill in Game 1, while the Wild Things will counter with lefty A. J. Jenkins (0-0, 0.00). Game 2 will start approximately 30 minutes after Game 1. Justin Moring will make his professional debut for Southern Illinois in Game 2, and Andy Schindling (2-0, 2.67) will get the call for Washington.
