Frederick Keys News Release

Frederick, MD - Frederick Keys outfielder Steve Bumbry and right-handed pitcher Oliver Drake have been named Orioles Player and Pitcher of the Month for June by the organization. Bumbry hit .296 with 11 runs scored in 23 games in the month. Drake went 3-1 in four starts with a 1.13 ERA allowing only four earned runs in 32 innings of work.

Bumbry has come to life after a slow start to 2011 with the Keys. After returning to the Keys in May, Bumbry has since batted .277 and been a spark at the top of Frederick's order. In fact in 41 games batting atop the Keys order, Bumbry has a stellar .419 on-base percentage and 30 runs scored.

Drake, who has had stints this season in both Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk, is on quite a roll. A winner of five-of-his-last-six starts, Drake has been an innings eater in 2011. Using his 2.12 Ground Out/Fly Out ratio, Drake has averaged seven innings per start (83.2 IP/12 starts). He is currently 7-3 with a 2.24 ERA.
