The first place K-Tribe takes on Lynchburg in the middle game of a three game set at Historic Grainger Stadium..game time 6:30 pm.
Game One Win - The Indians made it two in a row with a well pitched opening contest against Lynchburg on Wednesday night in Kinston. Drew Pomeranz struck out seven batters over seven shutout innings and Preston Guilmet collected his 21st save with a perfect ninth inning. Kinston has the upper hand against Lynchburg this season, winning 9 of 12 games.
Gold Glove Caliber K-Tribe - Kinston is statistically the best team in the Carolina League. The K-Tribe's fielding percentage of .978 just edges Salem's mark of .977. As a team, Kinston has committed a league best 68 errors, five better than Salem. Among defensive starters, Roberto Perez holds Kinston's best mark, a .991 fielding percentage, he has also totaled a catchers best 501 putouts. Potomac's percentage of .966 is far and away the worst. Potomac has also totaled 104 errors, 13 more than the next closest team, Winston-Salem.
