Bulls Acquire Welychka from Knights

BELLEVILLE, ON - Belleville Bulls Head Coach and General Manager George Burnett has announced a significant trade early Saturday morning. The Bulls have dealt veteran winger Aaron Berisha, Mississauga's 2nd round pick in 2015 and Erie's 3rd round pick in 2016 to the London Knights. In return, the Bulls receive 20-year-old over-ager Brett Welychka.

Welychka, who was Assistant Captain with the Knights this year, comes to Belleville as a 190 regular season game veteran of the OHL. The London, Ontario native buried 22 goals and handed out 34 assists in 68 games played with the Knights a season ago. A 5'10, 190lbs forward, Welychka competed in the Memorial Cup over the past two seasons and put up 5 points in 8 contests. A free agent tryout with the Chicago Blackhawks, Welychka brings a great deal of experience and success to a young Bulls squad, who are off to an impressive start this season

Belleville's 4th round pick in 2011, Aaron Berisha has been with the organization since 2012. Last year Berisha, a 5'10, 185 lbs. 19 year old, scored 12 goals and added 15 assists in 67 games played with the Bulls. The graduate of the Toronto Malboro's Minor Midget club joins the Knights, who currently have a 4-5-0-0 record.
