Bullies Silence Storm 3-0

January 2, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release

Atlantic City, NJ – Goaltender Jake Moreland stopped all 23 Toledo shots and Eric Nelson recorded his first professional goal with the game-winner to lead the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies to a 3-0 win over the Toledo Storm before 1691 at Historic Boardwalk Hall in ECHL action Sunday.

Nelson gave the Bullies all the scoring they would need at 11:10 of the first period when his slap shot from the outer-rim of the right-wing circle beat Toledo goalie Scott Fankhouser along the ice for a 1-0 advantage. Brad Both increased the lead to 2-0 at 18:06 of the first, taking a beautiful pass across the crease from Ian Walterson and tipping it by Fankhouser.

Rob McFeeters added some insurance with an empty-net goal at 19:26 of the third period to make the final score 3-0.

Atlantic City out-shot Toledo 26-23. Moreland earned his 17th win of the season in his 23rd consecutive start. The Bullies did not have a power play opportunity for the first time this season.
