SAN DIEGO â The San Diego Gulls, who just came off a solid road trip, look for another win and to keep climbing up the West Division Standings when they take on the second-place Bakersfield Condors today at the Sports Arena
SERIES HISTORY: The Gulls and Condors have met four times so far this season with Bakersfield holding a 3-0-1 series edge. The two teams will clash four more times during the regular season. San Diego and Bakersfield met 10 times last season with the Gulls holding a 9-1-0 edge.

San Diego owns the all-time series match-up, posting an 86-18-6 record against its West Division rival. The Gulls are 46-6-3 all-time against the Condors at the Sports Arena.
LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING (NOV. 28 VS. BAK): San Diego out-shot Bakersfield 46-20, but had to come-from behind to force a shootout. The Condors were spotted a 2-0 lead, but the Gulls cut it to one heading into the third period. Bakersfield made it 3-1 early in the third, but the Gulls stormed back and tied the game at the 12:20 mark. San Diego then trailed in the final round of the shootout, but Max Birbraer knotted things again and Chris Lynch finally won it in the sixth round.
GULLS UPDATE: The Gulls (15-8-3) enter the day third in the West Division, four points behind the first-place Long Beach Ice Dogs and three points back of the second-place Condors. San Diego, however, has two games in hand on Long Beach and has played three fewer games than Bakersfield... The Blue and Orange just completed a six-game road trip, going 4-1-1... The Gulls are 10-2-1 at home and 5-6-2 overall on the road... San Diego has played nine straight one-goal games (6-2-1). The Gulls are 8-3-3 in one-goal decisions this season...
OTHER NOTES: Sean O'Connor has 16 points (11g, 5a) in his last 12 games. He has three goals in his last four games... Brian Gornick had six points (3g, 3a) during San Diego's six-game road trip... Birbraer still leads the club with 21 points and 13 assists... The Gulls were 16-8-2 through 26 games last season. They are only one point off last season's pace... San Diego averages the third most goals per game in the ECHL (3.19) but has the second-worst penalty killing in the league (79.2)...
BAKERSFIELD UPDATE: Bakersfield (16-9-4) begins the day second in the West with 36 points, three ahead of the Gulls and one behind Long Beach... The Condors have struggled of late, going 3-8-2 in their last 13 games... They started the season with a 13-1-2 record... Former Gull Kevin St. Jacques leads the team with 29 points (7g, 22a). His 22 helpers are tied for third most in the ECHL... Goaltender Yutaka Fukufuji is 2-0-1 with a 1.61 goals-against average and .950 save percentage against San Diego this season...
TRANSACTIONS: Trent Clark was signed today... Goaltender Eddy Ferhi was re-assigned by the American Hockey League's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks yesterday... Trevor Koenig was placed on the seven-day injured list yesterday with an elbow injury... Sean Murphy (broken thumb) and Andrew Canzanello (bruised spleen) were both placed on the injured list yesterday, joining Jonathon Shockey, who is still out with a separated shoulder... Mark Pederson, who's missed the last three games with a sore back, was activated from the injured list yesterday...
