Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release


ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, have announced that defenseman Vince Macri has been assigned by Bridgeport of the American Hockey League, and forwards Brett Nowak and Derek Edwardson have been released from their professional tryout contracts with Bridgeport. All three players will be in the Bullies line-up this afternoon when Atlantic City hosts Toledo.

Nowak, 23, returns to the Bullies after spending the entire month of December in Bridgeport. The New Haven, CT native registered one assist in 13 games with the Sound Tigers. Nowak is tied for fifth on the Bullies scoring with seven goals and 17 points in 18 games played.

Edwardson, 23, skated in two games for the Sound Tigers without recording a point after signing a professional tryout agreement on Tuesday. The Morton Grove, IL native is second on the Bullies and tied for second in the ECHL rookie-scoring race with 13 goals and 30 points through 26 games.

Macri, 23, is assigned to Atlantic City by Bridgeport for the second time this season after being recalled back on December 14. Macri skated in five games with Bridgeport and did not record a point. The Durham, NH native is tied for the Bullies scoring lead among defensemen with four goals and 11 points through 23 games.

The Bullies welcome in 2005 as they host the Toledo Storm at 2:05PM this afternoon. Every Sunday home game is "Kids Day" at Historic Boardwalk Hall. All kids 12-and-under get in for just $1 with the purchase of a $15 adult premier ticket.
