Mike Fischer's two run home run in the bottom of the eighth extended the Bullfrogs' lead to three runs, and they held on in the ninth, winning by a final of 3-2 over LaCrosse on Saturday.

The game was the first of a two game set between the Bullfrogs and the Loggers at Joannes stadium. Green Bay opened the scoring in the third when Collin Shaw scored as Joel Klock grounded into a bases-loaded double play.

LaCrosse took a short-lived in the fifth when Brandon Defazio and Steven Pallares came around to score on a Brenden Farney single.

Green Bay tied it up in the sixth inning on a Shaw single and took the lead in the seventh on a Ryan McCauley fielder's choice.

Fischer padded the lead in the 8th inning with a two run bomb, his first of the season, giving the 'Frogs the 5-2 lead that would be the game's eventual final.

Bud Jeter (1-1) earned the win for the Bullfrogs. He relieved Bradley Wallace who, in his first start with the 'Frogs, went five innings and gave up one earned run while striking out seven. Mac Acker earned the save for Green Bay in his first appearance as a Bullfrog.

James Guillen (0-1) took the loss for the Loggers. He relieved Jake Stassi and gave up one earned run in two innings of work.
