Loves Park, Ill. - The visiting Green Bay Bullfrogs (24-39, 12-15) scored three straight runs in the seventh and eighth innings to comeback against the host Rockford Rivets (27-35, 9-19) by a final score of 4-3 at Rivets Stadium Thursday night. The Bullfrogs secured their first win at Rockford this summer.
Rockford jumped ahead in the third inning on a RBI triple by Brennan Reback to give the hosts an early 1-0 advantage. Reback struck again in the fifth with a RBI double to make it a 2-0 game.
Green Bay cut the deficit in half 2-1 in the sixth inning with a run-scoring single from Andre Antone (Freshman, UC Irvine) for his fifth hit in the last three games. Rockford stretched their lead to 3-1 on a RBI ground out by Logan Michaels in the bottom frame of the sixth.
The Bullfrogs got back within one run in the seventh as Keaton Smith (Junior, Univ. of Nevada) scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-2. In the visiting half of the eighth inning, the Frogs tied the score at 3-3 with Adrian Damla (Sophomore, UC Irvine) scoring on an error. Tommy Buckman (Sophomore, Washington College) then laced the game-winning RBI single scoring Riley Mihalik (Junior, Rider Univ.) to put Green Bay in front 4-3.
