Bullfrogs Head to Eau Claire for Two Game Series

Green Bay, Wis. - The road trip continues for the Bullfrogs as they head to Eau Claire for a two game series against the Express. Last night the Bullfrogs dropped the second game of the two games series against the Kenosha Kingfish 7-6. The Bullfrogs are currently 2-2 on the present road trip.
Last night the Bullfrogs fell down early against the Kingfish as they were chasing a six run deficit after four innings of play. The Bullfrogs proved resilient as they battled and clawed their way back into the ball game. The Bullfrogs scored a couple of runs in the fifth off a Bomber's error and a double by Hill Alexander (Midland). The next inning the Bullfrogs would pull within two as they scored three runs coming off a bases loaded walk by Chris Botsoe (Louisville), a sac fly by Alexander, and a wild pitch that plated Randell Kanemaru (Columbia).
Marcus Shoemaker (Lenoir Rhyne) led off the eighth inning with a single and moved to second base off an error by Jack Yalowitz (Illinois) in left field. Shoemaker would come around to score after a wild pitch, followed by an error by the pitcher, Ryan Orr (Lewis & Clark CC). That would be the last run the Bullfrogs would score as they couldn't muster anything in the ninth.
The bullpen was impressive again as Peter Castillo (Palm Beach State) and Luke VanLanen (Valparaiso) kept the Bullfrogs in the ballgame.
Stuart Springer (St. Edwards) heads to the mound for the Bullfrogs for tonight's 6:35 CT match-up. In two appearances this season, Springer has a 7.36 ERA and has not factored into a decision.
For the Express, they send right-hander Dalton Roach to the mound. In his first start of the year against the Rochester Honkers, Roach threw eight scoreless innings and struck out eighteen batters.
