Bulldogs Shut out by Monsters 3-0

Cleveland, OH - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated by the Lake Erie Monsters 3-0 on Saturday night. The ‘Dogs could not beat Lake Erie starting goaltender John Grahame as he stopped all 30 of Hamilton's shots to lead his team to the victory.

The Monsters took a 1-0 lead at 8:37 of the opening frame with a power-play goal. Patrick Rissmiller received a pass from Ben Walter before sending the puck towards the net. Ryan Stoa redirected the puck past Hamilton starting goaltender Robert Mayer and into the net.

Lake Erie took a 2-0 lead at 4:47 of the second stanza with a shorthanded tally. Justin Mercier sent the puck to Mike Carman, who skated in on a breakaway. Carman used a forehand-to-backhand deke before firing the puck off the post and past Mayer. The Monsters increased their lead to 3-0 at 18:40. Julian Talbot dropped the puck to Matthew Ford, who fired a shot through the five-hole of Mayer and into the net.

The Bulldogs will return to the ice on Wednesday, January 5th with a 7:00 p.m. game in Grand Rapids against the Griffins. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
