Anaheim Reassigns Defenseman John de Gray from Elmira to Syracuse

Syracuse, NYanuary 1, 2011) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Anaheim Ducks have reassigned defenseman John de Gray from Elmira (ECHL) to Syracuse.

de Gray, 22, has appeared in three games with the Crunch this season, being held scoreless. He made his Crunch debut on December 8 at Norfolk. In addition, de Gray has skated in 22 contests with Elmira this season, recording nine points (2g, 7a) and 32 penalty minutes.

A native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, de Gray has appeared in a combined 112 AHL games with the Crunch, Portland, Iowa and Rochester since 2007-08, registering 13 points (3g, 10a) and 98 penalty minutes. He was selected by Anaheim in the third round, 83rd overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch continue their season-high seven-game road trip with a New Year's Day match-up at Rochester on Saturday, January 1 at 7:35 p.m. Syracuse returns home to The Oncenter War Memorial Arena on January 15 for a 7:30 p.m. contest vs. rival Rochester.
