SYRACUSE, NY - Despite out-shooting the Syracuse Crunch 24-20, the Hamilton Bulldogs dropped a 2-1 decision on Friday night at Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter. The loss, Hamilton's first loss of the season in regulation time, drops the Bulldogs record to 2-1-0-1.

After a scoreless first period, the teams exchanged goals 11 seconds apart in the middle stanza. Syracuse took a 1-0 lead at 9:32 of the frame when Darcy Campbell notched his first goal of the season. Then at the 9:43 mark, Janne Lahti registered his first-career AHL goal to even the score 1-1 for Hamilton. Eric Manlow and Francis Lemieux earned assists on Lahti's goal.

The Crunch restored their one-goal lead at 3:28 of the third period when Joakim Lindstrom scored the eventual game-winning goal on the power play. Derick Brassard and Andrei Plekhanov drew helpers on the 2-1 goal.

Between the pipes, Yann Danis made 18 saves on 20 shots in a losing effort for Hamilton while Tomas Popperle stopped 23 of 24 shots to pick up his second win of the season for Syracuse.

The Bulldogs were 0-for-4 on the power play and the Crunch went 1-for-7 with the man advantage.

The defending Calder Cup Champion Hamilton Bulldogs return to action tomorrow night (Saturday, October 20th) at 7:00 p.m. when they host the Hartford Wolf Pack at Copps Coliseum.
