Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ON - Duncan Milroy had a goal and an assist to help the Hamilton Bulldogs begin their four-game homestand with a win 2-1 over the Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday night at Copps Coliseum. With the win, Hamilton improved its record to 24-18-1-1.
Milroy opened the scoring for the Bulldogs with his 18th tally of the season at 4:05 of the first period with an unassisted goal. Milroy, working off the left boards, attempted a cross-ice pass to Corey Locke on the far side. The puck was blocked by a Griffins defender and bounced back to Milroy who he was able to jam in his own rebound.
Hamilton took a 2-0 lead in the middle stanza when Corey Locke notched his 11th goal of the season, finishing off a three-way passing play from Duncan Milroy and Francis Lemieux. The eventual game-winning goal came at the 5:34 mark of the frame.
Grand Rapids cut Hamilton's lead in half with a power-play goal at 8:32 of the third period to make the score 2-1. Josh Langfeld posted his 12th goal of the campaign from Matt Hussey and Matt Ellis.
Yann Danis made 23 saves on 24 shots for the Bulldogs, picking up his 12th win of the season. At the other end of the ice, Stefan Liv's five-game winning streak was snapped despite stopping 26 of the 28 shots he faced for the Griffins.
Hamilton was 0-for-7 on the power play while Grand Rapids went 1-for-4 with the man-advantage.
Mikhail Grabovski was named the 'Pearson Dunn Player of the Game', recording four shots and two penalty minutes.
