HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Hamilton Bulldogs gave the 1st place 67's all they could handle Saturday afternoon in the nation's capital in a 5-3 Ottawa win.

The 67's made it 1-0 early in the 1st period but then Hamilton's power-play went to work. First Matthew Strome (20) tied the game with Liam Van Loon (4) giving the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead to end the opening 20 minutes.

Liam Stevens (5) extended Hamilton's lead to 3-1 early in the 2nd, but a power-play goal from the 67's less than a minute later turned the momentum in favour of the home team. Two more goals before the end of the period gave Ottawa a 4-3 lead after two periods.

The Bulldogs had a couple of great chances to tie the game in the 3rd, but Matthew Strome and Arthur Kaliyev were both robbed by 67's goaltender Michael DiPietro and then with Hamilton's goalie on the bench for the extra attacker, Ottawa scored an empty netter to make the final 5-3.

3 Stars:

1) Marco Rossi (OTT) 2) Alec Belanger (OTT) 3) Nikita Okhotyuk (OTT)

The Bulldogs remain on the road tomorrow when they head to Kingston to take on the Frontencas at 2 pm.
