Bugs to Host Jacks, Dogs This Weekend

BOSSIER CITY, LA - This weekend is the perfect opportunity to ring in the New Year with two nights of Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs hockey at CenturyTel Center! Tonight the Mudbugs host the Odessa Jackalopes and tomorrow it's the Arizona Sundogs visiting Bossier City to take on your Mudbugs! Both games will get underway at 7:05 pm.
Arrive early for tonight's game against Odessa to get your hands on our giveaway item: a 2008-09 Mudbugs autograph book. The first 1,000 fans inside the CTC tonight will receive the autograph books, which are sponsored by Cubby Hole Storage.
Don't forget to stick around after the game as well for a public post-game skate with the players. The Mudbugs will stay in uniform after the game against the Jackalopes to skate with fans on the CenturyTel Center ice for the first time this season. Cost is $6.00 per person to skate after the game and tickets are available at the Mudbugs information table on the concourse during the game.
Tonight is one of the marquee home matchups of the season for Bossier-Shreveport as the Mudbugs battle the number one team in the Southern Conference. Odessa has 22 wins this year and stands just one point behind Colorado for the best record in the CHL. The Jackalopes boast the top two scorers in the league and have four players with at least 13 goals this season. Last year, the teams met just one time when Odessa came to the CTC on February 15th. The Mudbugs dominated that game on their way to a 9-0 win against the Jackalopes. Tonight's game is the only meeting between the teams this season.
Saturday night, the Mudbugs will battle the defending President's Cup Champion Arizona Sundogs, presented by 1st Choice Personnel. Arizona is coming off last year's four-game sweep of Colorado in the President's Cup Finals that gave them their first CHL championship. The Mudbugs have never faced the Sundogs, who are now in their third year of existence, prior to this season. Saturday night's game is the first-ever meeting between the teams and the first of three games they will play this year, as the Bugs travel to Prescott Valley, Arizona to take on the 'Dogs in February.
