Colorado Stays #1 on Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll

The Colorado Eagles have retained their spot on top of the Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll expanding their lead over the rest of the league. The Eagles are 23-5-1 and have the highest winning percentage in the CHL at .810 and are leading the Northwest Division by 19 points over their closest competitor. The Oklahoma City Blazers jumped from #3 to #2 in the most recent poll after a pair of games with the Eagles that both went beyond regulation with each team winning once. The Odessa Jackalopes saw their win streak come to an end at 11 games since the last poll and fell one spot from #2 to #3. The Eagles received 13 of the 16 first place votes with Oklahoma City earning two first place nods and Odessa receiving the other.

The Rocky Mountain Rage went 8-4-1 in December and have pulled back to .500 earning them their first ranking of the season breaking in at #9. The Corpus Christi IceRays made their first appearance on the last poll but are the team falling out with the Rage's emergence. The rest of the current poll remained mostly unchanged with no tem moving up or down more than one spot.

The CHL Top 10 Coaches Poll will be released on or near the beginning and middle of each month through the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place earns nine points, etc.
