TIME FOR TEN?: Tonight the Bisons will be looking for their 10th victory over Ottawa this season. The Herd has defeated the Lynx ten times in seven of the last eight seasons. Since rejoining the International League in 1998, Buffalo is 86-56 against Ottawa in the regular season, the most wins against any team (2nd: Rochester, 83-60).
HIT MACHINE: Ben Francisco picked up his 141st hit of the season with a single in Rochester Friday night. He is now tied with two others for the second most hits in the International League behind only Durham's Darnell McDonald (152). With four more, Francisco would tie Greg LaRocca (2003) for the 10th most hits in a single-season in the Bisons Modern Era.
HIT STREAK: Jason Dubois saw his 16-game hit streak come to an end on Friday. From August 13-31, he averaged .355 (22-62) with four doubles, two home runs, four RBI and nine runs scored. On the year, Dubois leads the team with 22 home runs and 84RBI, and his .273 batting average is closing in on Franklin Gutierrez and Ben Francisco (.276) for the team lead.
UN-COOPED: Since August 1, Jason Cooper is hitting .288 (23-80) with six doubles, a triple, five home runs and 18RBI. He enters today's game with hits in 10 of his last 12 games with five multi-hit performances.
EVERY DAY: Jonathan Van Every is hitting .379 (22-58) with three doubles, a triple, three home runs and seven RBI in 17 games in his second stint with the Bisons (promoted August 11). He's also 3-3 in stolen bases since returning to the team.
ROSTER MOVE: Jose Chavez has been promoted to the Herd from Single-A Lake County where he was hitting .195 (8-41) in 12 games. He will help fill in for Kevin Kouzmanoff, who was called up to Cleveland yesterday and became just the third player in Major League history to hit a grand slam in his first big league at-bat. Chavez will be the 50th player to appear in uniform for the Bisons this season.
