Bucks Sweep NWL's Monday Awards

Rochester, MN - The Northwoods League has named Waterloo Bucks first baseman Jordan Adams the NWL Player of the Night and right-handed pitcher Jake Powers the NWL Pitcher of the Night for their efforts on Monday, July 11 versus the Eau Claire Express.

Adams, a sophomore from Central Michigan University, went 3-for-4 in Waterloo's win against Eau Claire at renovated Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo. Adams three-hit performance helped the Bucks improve to 4-1 in the second half of the NWL season. Adams is now hitting .271 with 13 extra-base hits in 32 games. Adams also scored twice, drove in two runs, and hit his fifth home run of the season.

Powers threw a five-hitter in 7.0 innings of work against the Express. The 5'10'' righty from Missouri State University improved his record to 3-2 with the win and now sports a 3.68 earned run average. Powers has now pitched 44.0 innings in 2011 and has 25 strikeouts.

The Bucks hit the road today for a three-game road trip to Madison, Wisconsin to play the Mallards. Waterloo will then return home on Friday to face the Green Bay Bullfrogs in the first game of a two-game homestand. Season tickets and single-game tickets are currently on sale.
