
Stingers Drop Two Games at St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Willmar could only muster a combined seven hits in a doubleheader against St. Cloud, dropping both games, 5-1 and 8-1. In the first game, Anthony Bemboom (Creighton) hit a solo home run in the third inning for the only Stingers run. Pat Stover (Santa Clara) went 3-for-3, while Jason Leblebijian (Bradley) was 1-for-3 with a walk.
In game two, the Stingers only accumulated two hits, including an RBI single by Mitch Rowan (Willamette) to score Ryan Dettman (Oregon State) after he reached on a walk and stole a base. Sean Dwyer (Florida Gulf Coast) had the only other hit for Willmar in the game.
Willmar will play the first of three games against Duluth at Bill Taunton Stadium Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. It is Team Poster Night presented by the Central Minnesota Christian School. The first 500 fans will receive a Stingers Team Poster. This night will also celebrate the CMCS 100th anniversary. Gates open at 6 p.m.
