LAREDO, Texas- The Colorado Eagles were defeated by the Laredo Bucks Friday night 1-0 at the Laredo Entertainment Center. The game marked only the second time this season the Eagles have been shutout. Chris Korchinski scored the lone goal in the contest at the 13:13 mark of the second period as the Bucks took the first overall position in the Central Hockey League with the win. Laredo now leads the Eagles by two points in the race for the Governors' Cup. Eagles' goaltender Marco Emond saved 28 of 29 shots in just his seventh loss of the season and Eric Marvin saved all 33 shots for the Bucks. The Eagles will travel to Austin Saturday night for a game against the Ice Bats starting at 6:30 p.m. MST.

Neither team was able to score in the first period, although Laredo outshot the Eagles 11-5.

Chris Korchinski scored the lone goal of the second period when he took a pass from Serge Dube and lifted the puck with a wrist shot over the glove hand of Emond. Colorado had a chance later in the period when Seth Leonard was awarded a penalty shot. Leonard was denied by Marvin preserving the Bucks one-goal lead.

The Buck defense stayed strong in the third period and didn't allow the Eagles to score the equalizer. The Eagles outshot the Bucks 15-10 however they were unable to tie the game. Final Score: Bucks 1 - Eagles 0.
