March 9, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Youngstown SteelHounds News Release

The Youngstown SteelHounds had their team record eight game winning streak end on Friday night as the first place Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs defeated the Hounds 3-1 at the CenturyTel Center.

The Bugs struck quickly as Cam Abbott made it 1-0 just 19 seconds into the game and the momentum stayed with the Bugs through the night as Chris Abbott scored his 13th of the year at 17:01 to make it 2-0 Bugs after one period.

The second saw Karlis Zirnis score just 4:37 in to make it 3-0 "Crayfish" after two periods.

Youngstown was able to avoid being shutout thanks to Matt Hanson's fifth goal of the season with under five minutes to play to make it 3-1.

For the Hounds this is their first loss since February 10th, a game that they lost to the same team. By virtue of the Oklahoma City Blazers loss to Memphis the Hounds remain in fourth position for the Northern Conference Playoffs with a record of 31-17-9 (71pts). Youngstown will finish the two game road trip on Saturday night when they take on the Memphis RiverKings at 8:05pm.
