Bucks Host Bees Tonight On Rivalry Night

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League start a three-game homestand tonight when they host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at the Laredo Entertainment Center on Rivalry Night. The first 1,000 fans to enter the LEC will receive a FREE Bucks/Bees "rivalry t-shirt". This is a unique t-shirt with a never before seen design and logo that describes the Bucks and Bees rivalry. Group tickets start at just $10, call 718-BUCK (2825). There will be a post-game skate following the rivalry game between the Bucks and Bees.

Laredo enters tonight's game two points behind Texas for third place in the Southern Conference with each team having played 52 games. The Bucks are four points ahead of Corpus Christi for fourth place in the standings.

The Bucks closed out their three-game road trip with a 6-4 loss Thursday night in Allen. Laredo trailed 2-0 and 4-2 and fought back twice to tie the game each time but could not pick up the win. Jeff Bes and Neil Trimm scored two goals apiece while Darryl Smith and Sylvain Deschatelets each had three assists.

Despite the loss the Bucks have earned points in eight of their last 11 games and are 6-3-2 in that span.

The Bucks enter tonight's game unbeaten against the Bees in regulation this season posting a 9-0-3 mark including a 3-0-3 mark in Laredo.

Laredo and Rio will play tonight for the seventh and final time in February. The Bucks are 4-0-2 so far in that stretch.

Laredo will continue their fifth straight weekend with a three-in-three Friday. Starting the weekend of Jan 29th Bucks will play three games in three nights in seven straight weekends. In all, from January 29th-March 14th the Bucks will play 22 games in 44 days (10 home, 9 away). They are 8-5-2 in that span.

The Killer Bees fell in Corpus Thursday night by a 6-1 score and now sit five points out of the fifth and final playoff spot in the South.

**GIVE BLOOD, PLAY HOCKEY FEB 27TH**

The Bucks will hold "Give Blood, Play Hockey" on Saturday February 27 at the LEC. The blood drive runs from 8am-7pm in the concourse of the arena. Everyone who donates blood will receive TWO FREE TICKETS to the game, along with many other gifts.
