
Bucks Fall to Bees in 100th Meeting

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 5-3 Saturday night at Laredo Energy Arena. The Bucks winless streak is extended to four games (0-3-1) as they fall to 9-12-4 (22 points).
Brett Wilson scored two goals while Juliano Pagliero stopped 33 of 36 shots to lead the Bees to a 4-0 road trip with two wins each in Laredo and Bossier-Shreveport.
The game was the 100 all-time meeting between the Bucks and Killer Bees with Laredo now leading the all-time regular season series 67-23-10.
Rio Grande Valley takes the lead in the Cricket Mayor's Cup standings nine points to eight over Laredo.
The Killer Bees (12-12-3, 27 points) struck first to take a 1-0 lead at the 6:17 mark of the first period when Brett Wilson scored on a two-on-one break from the right side of the crease. The goal was Wilson's seventh of the season.
The Bucks would tie the game one minute later when Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel scored from the point on the power-play to net his fourth goal of the season. Three of Dieude-Fauvel's four goals have come against the Bees this season.
The Bucks outshot the Bees 14-7 in the first period.
Rio Grande Valley would score two goals in a three minute span midway through the second period to take a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes.
Tomas Klempa gave the Bees a 2-1 lead at the 10:25 mark of the second when he picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone and scored on an odd man rush from the right circle. The goal was Klempa's team-leading 13th of the campaign.
The Killer Bees would increase their lead to 3-1 less than three minutes later when Dan Gendur picked up another loose puck in the neutral zone and scored on a breakaway from the left circle. The goal was Gendur's third of the season and his first since returning from the AHL earlier in the week.
The Killer Bees scored on their only two shots of the second period as Laredo outshot them 12-2.
Neil Trimm cut the Bees lead to 3-2 just 11 seconds into the third period when he scored from the bottom of the right circle off of the face off. The goal was Trimm's 10th of the season.
The Killer Bees would increase their lead to 4-2 a little over two minutes later when Wilson scored his second of the night from the left circle.
Dieude-Fauvel would cut the lead to 4-3 with less than five minutes left when he scored from the point.
Sean Muncy scored an empty-net goal with just four seconds left to seal the game for Rio Grande Valley.
Laredo outshot the Bees 36-30 in the game.
