RIO RANCHO, NM- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League look for a two-game sweep of the New Mexico Scorpions tonight when they battle at the Santa Ana Star Center. Game time is 8:15pm CST.

Both the Bucks and Texas Brahmas won last night, keeping Laredo 10 points back of the Brahmas in the Southeast Division. Laredo increased their hold on the third playoff spot in the conference to six points over Rio Grande Valley with last night's victory.
The Bucks started their season high five-game road trip with a 3-1 win last night over the Scorpions. Darryl Smith and Serge Dube each netted five-on-three power-play goals in the second period, with Sebastien Centomo stopping 31 of 32 New Mexico shots to lead the Bucks to the win.
Last night's win for Laredo was just their third road win since December 11, as they are now 3-8-3 in their last 14 road contests.
The Bucks have won seven straight regular season games against the Scorpions, and look to sweep the season series tonight.
Smith still leads all CHL rookies in scoring, as he increased his point total to 53 points (27-26=53) with his strike last night.
New Mexico had their season-high three game winning streak snapped last night. The Scorpions enter tonight's game eight points back of the final playoff spot in the Southern Conference.
Craig Macdonald leads the Scorpions in scoring with 55 points (26-29=55).
Laredo will return home for the final Big Buck Thirsty Thursday of the season on February 26th when they host Arizona at the LEC, where beer will be $2 all game long.
