Buccaneers Dropped by Fargo 4-1

Des Moines Buccaneers News Release
The Des Moines Buccaneers had their 3-game winning streak snapped in Fargo as the Force came away with a 4-1 victory.
Neither team was able to get on the scoreboard in the opening period with Fargo outshooting Des Moines 10 to 6 through 20 minutes of play. It took almost the halfway point of the game for either side to score and Fargo did so while down a man. During one of Des Moines' three power play opportunities a bouncing puck behind the goal line popped out to Blake Lizotte who took it in tight on Jan Ruzicka and scored an unassisted shorthanded goal at 9:46 of the second period. Jack Adams finished a goal just over 5 minutes later on a 2-on-1, and it looked like the Force would skate into the locker room with a two goal lead as they held that lead in the final minute. The Buccaneers made some noise at the end of the period though when Zach Jordan kicked a pick from the left of goaltender Ryan Wischow into the top of the crease where it was poked at by Nikita Pavlchev and then finally swept over the line by Ty Pelton-Byce to cut the lead to just one for Fargo.
Des Moines had issues getting offensive momentum in the third period however and the Force finished with a second goal by Adams and then Hank Crone sealed the game with a power play goal at the 16:36 mark of the third. Wischow made 21 saves in the win while Ruzicka picked up 24 saves while falling to a record of 8-9-1.
Up next for the Buccaneers is a road contest against the Omaha Lancers on Saturday, January 2nd, with a 7:05 PM puck drop.
