DUBUQUE, Iowa - After two years serving as the Vice President of Business Operations, Matt Rau will advance his career to the NCAA ranks and join Learfield Sports as the General Manager of St. Cloud State Sports Properties.

"This was a tough decision to make," said Rau. "It has definitely been a season of change, but it's a testament to the Dubuque Fighting Saints organization, and the reputation that comes with being a Fighting Saint, that opportunities with high-profile sport management organizations like Learfield Sports arise."

"Working for Learfield Sports at St. Cloud State not only provides me with an opportunity to work for a leader in college sports, but also to be closer to family."

While with the Fighting Saints, Rau was instrumental in organizing the highly-successful 2015 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game held in Dubuque. The results included a near-sellout crowd, over 100 NHL scouts in attendance, a sold-out banquet featuring Eddie Olczyk, a primetime show on NHL Network, unprecedented media coverage, and a standard for USHL special events moving forward.

"It has been my pleasure to work with such a passionate staff who come to work each day with a team-first attitude and are determined to make each game an event for fans," Rau added.

Prior to his time in Dubuque, Rau excelled as the Director of Corporate Sales and Promotions for the Omaha Storm Chasers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. Before his time in Omaha, Rau was the Assistant General Manager and Interim General Manager of the Kinston Indians of the Carolina League and worked for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks of the American Association for six seasons.

"Our business culture at the Fighting Saints is strong, but it is strong because of talented managers like Matt," said Brad Kwong, Managing Partner of Northern Lights Hockey, LLC. "Matt really stepped up this season and demonstrated his leadership skills."

"He kept the staff focused and he managed our key partnerships very well. We will obviously miss Matt, but we wish him and his wife Tricia the very best in the future."

The search for Rau's successor is underway, and a new president will be named in the near future.
