
Bryan Santy joins Kernels from Extended; Michael Quesada placed on DL

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that C Michael Quesada has been placed on the 7-day DL, retroactive to April 17th, and C Bryan (B.K.) Santy joins the Kernels from Extended Spring Training. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
The Twins selected Santy in the 30th round of the 2012 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Washington. He played in 23 games with Elizabethton last season, batting .256 with three doubles and 12 RBI.
Quesada goes on the DL with a right wrist contusion. In nine games for the Kernels, he is batting .185 (5-27) with four doubles and 3 RBI.
Santy is available for tonight's 6:35 pm game with West Michigan. With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players with two players currently on the DL.
The Kernels continue a six game home stand tonight at 6:35 pm against the West Michigan Whitecaps. The first 1,000 fans through the gates when they open at 5:30 pm receive a free Kernels Stocking Cap from the Best Western Longbranch and the first 500 fans receive a free 2014 Kernels Team Photo, thanks to Wells Fargo and Copyworks.
