Bruno Heppell to Remain an Alouette through 2006

Montreal, October 29, 2003 - Montreal Alouettes' General Manager Jim Popp announced today that fullback Bruno Heppell will be an Alouette until 2006.

"Not only is this great news for the Alouettes but for the whole Montreal community," said Jim Popp. "Bruno is an important member of our football team who is very much involved in the community. We are thrilled to have him continue his career with the Alouettes."

As for Bruno Heppell, he is very excited to continue his career with the Alouettes. "It's a privilege for any athlete to play in his hometown," said Heppell. "It's even better when your hometown has a winning team and a classy organization like the Alouettes, who have always taken care of me and treated me with respect."

Heppell started his career with the Alouettes in 1997 when he was drafted in the third round. He had the most productive season of his career this year with five touchdowns. He is 31.

Heppell signed a new two-year deal plus an option, starting in 2004. He will be available for interviews in the Alouettes' locker room at Olympic Stadium at 1 p.m. today.
